ABOUT

The Secrets of a Wedding Planner is THE definitive guide to planning your own wedding in France.  For anyone who’s thinking of holding their big day in this wonderful land of wine, cheese and fabulously diverse and beautiful countryside (amongst other endorsements, of course!) but just doesn’t know how it all works; here’s your new best friend!

Alongside an easy to follow step-by-step guide to planning your wedding, you can also find essential expert advice from a whole host of our favourite wedding professionals, including internationally celebrated florist, Le Cœur Sauvage; the Riviera’s n°1 events band, Brightlights; oh-so-talented solo guitarist Byron Johnston and globe-trotting fine art photographer, Roberta Facchini, to name a few.

All beautifully wrapped up with illustrations from LOVE ♥ CORALBERRY’s talented Styling Director, Guillaume Bernard.

PREFACE

Aimed at couples planning a destination wedding in France, The Secrets of a Wedding Planner is specifically written for couples organising their big day without the assistance of a wedding planner, although it will also make useful reading for those working with a planner and your wedding planner may have referred you here for references alongside a more ‘assistance-based’ package.  You may even be a wedding planner looking to branch out into France, looking for some tips and contacts.

Regardless of your reason for being here, the content of this book has been carefully constructed so as not to waste your time.  There is no rambling about snow white doves sprinkling rose petals or the different shades of blush you might like to dress your beloved miniature dog in.  If that is what you’re after, you will be sorely disappointed.  I apologise in advance. That is not the reality of wedding planning.

That said, you’ll be delighted to hear that there is a section on donkeys serving champagne.  More on that later.

This book has been written to provide you – a sensible, logical human – with relevant and current advice to guide you through the organisation of your destination wedding sans one-to-one expert help.

READY?

Before we start, make sure you have (and never let out of your sight) the following items:

♥  A notebook

♥ A pen

♥ A new – wedding info related only – email address

♥ Google Translate favourited on your browser

♥ 100% commitment to your wedding planning

Let me elaborate on that last point.  There’s just no way to sugar coat it – a good wedding planner spends on average 300 hours planning a wedding.  That’s what you’re paying us for.  By going it alone, all that responsibility is going to fall on you.

Make sure you’re being honest with yourselves about how much time and energy you can commit before starting down this route.

When you’re ready, turn the page…
